Jordanian cafe in downtown Dubai

Tche Tche premier is a quite fun place to spend a weekend evening at. They have separate area for smokers (outside) while inside for non-smokers. There’s even a play area for kids inside and so many LED screens to watch game on. The interiors are simple and neat, what stands out most is their superb service that won’t let you down. Our server “Nadine” guided best for their best dishes and cocktails.

We started off with the sea food sampler that priced at 70 aed and is loaded with crunchy calamari, crispy panko shrimps, mozzarella sticks and lots of french fries with dip. I absolutely loved this, especially the panko shrimps that were crisp and delicious. However my favorite part of this was the fact that it came in such big portion size that can be shared among two and the masala that was garnished on the fries :p

Then we had Chicken Escallop Funghi which is basically a chicken steak topped with melted mozzarella cheese paired with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Loved the creamy mushroom sauce that accompanied this, it was spot on! Priced at 60 aed.

For sandwich we ordered the chicken zinger but it felt more like a crispy chicken sandwich as it had turkey slices in there as well. Nonetheless, the taste was amazing. The sandwich turned out pretty awesome. It was priced 45 aed

We also tried their house pizza that was priced at 48 aed and comprised of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese and beef bites. I know what you’re thinking, that these all would make one hell of a pizza but there was something missing for me. I would say may be the spice quotient could have been a bit better. But if you like low food then this will be an instant hit for you.

We were so full with all the scrumptious delicacies that we skipped dessert but wait! their cocktails satisfied our sweet tooth because they were literally yum! I felt they were more like milk shakes, I had the summer cocktail (mango, banana, strawberry, vanilla icecream, avocado and mango) priced 32 aed and TCHE’s (strawberry, banana and vanilla icecream) priced 32 aed as well. Loved the way these cocktails were presented.

Turkish food fix done right at PideKeyfi

Can’t afford a visit to Turkey? but miss their adna kebabs and cheesy pide real bad? Then you gotta head over to pide keyfi in JVC where some of the amazing turkish food is being served with 100% authentic flavors.

Their interiors are simple and orange is quite evident, love the candle stand on every table that adds to the ambiance. Also the pretty embossed turkish tea holders are quite wonderful to look at and take pictures with.

For welcome, they bring you a complimentary naan with nigella and sesame seeds on top, this bread is super huge and tastes so good. I tried the mix pide which comes with , minced meat, beef and meat thats topped with gorgeous kashkaval cheese. Loved the flavors there, the cheese was fresh and the bread was soft.

Also had the mix grill kebab platter that comprises of urfa kebab, tikka, chicken shish, chicken wings, kofte, mini lahmachun and kashkaval pide. I can try my best to explain how every element on this platter was but you have to taste it yourself to believe me. I simply loved the koftas, they were so juicy and flavored with subtle spices. The tikka was beautiful, charred from top with amazing spices and I actually replaced urfa kebab with adna because I’m adna kebab fan, those were super tasty too.

And obviously, one can just not leave without having kunafe at a Turkish joint. So we ordered their cheese kunafe and oh boy! was I blown away… It was the most tastiest kunafe I have had in ages and its all because the cheese used wasn’t mozzarella but special kunafe cheese that doesn’t form lacy texture but melts in mouth. It took them a while to prepare this because it was prepared fresh.

Brand new Filli select in La Mer (Dubai)

Filli has been enormously famous around the world especially among people who enjoy a strong cup of tea. Their tea is outrageously famous and many are not even aware that they serve some sandwiches, wraps and other snacks too.
Recently, Filli launched a full fledged restaurant catering to global flavors with inventive menu that promises a wonderful dining experience. The interiors are elegant and classy with super comfortable sofa seats to sit and chat all day. I was invited to an exclusive blogger’s event here last week and I was ecstatic to see the place and so many of my blogger friends.

Service could use some improvement, Now i completely understand that an event takes a lot of hard work and the kitchen is full and busy so that results in delayed orders. I got my food after 2 hours of placing the order but I didn’t feel that time because I was chatting with my friends. My only concern is that I had to place the order 4 times to separate staff members for some reason.

Tea Bites:

As I entered the restaurant at 4:00 pm, I was given a menu that had so many options to choose from. For the first section (Tea bites) I opted for keema paratha and ordered a drink simultaneously called “paan mojito” The drink was pretty amazing with subtle hints of paan. I liked it!

The Keema paratha was a wrap that looked pretty with grilled marks on top. As I took my first bite, a long trail of oil seeped out of it and I wondered how much oil there is in this roll. The flavors were really mild that one couldn’t feel them at all. I wish there were enough spices in this one.

Salads:

I chose quinoa salad and it was presented beautifully. The intricate details were amazing. It was fresh but bland with no punch. Just because its a salad, it doesn’t mean you can’t add flavors to it. Usually quinoa salads are served with tangy dressings to compensate the flavors but this one came with no dressing whatsoever.

Burgers & Sandwiches:

In this section, I chose tri colored chicken sliders that came in red, black and green colored buns. The chicken in the sliders was creamy with no spices, there was no heat, no feel of taste at all. I would have liked it even if it had salt and pepper only.

Mains:

I ordered the char-grilled chicken and it was pretty good. The presentation was gorgeous. that made it look super amazing and the chicken was cooked to perfection. I would recommend you order this upon your visit.

Desserts:

I ordered sticky toffee cake and chocolate brownie, both were tasty! Loved the fudgy brownie and soft moist toffee cake. I recommend you order the sticky toffee cake.

When you come to Filli, you can’t leave without having their tea and it came with a biscuit to relish the comforting cup of tea. It was absolutely wonderful.

A lot more than just Hot dogs

If you keep up with my blog, you’ll remember the delicious hot dog spread I shared few days back. I visited the same place but a different location this time to check out their burgers and desserts.

First of all, the one in Kite beach was just a food truck whereas this one is a full fledged restaurant with a proper seating area including outdoor seating as well with quirky interiors. And an open kitchen to watch all the live action. The staff is amazing and friendly, but the service needs improvement.

I ordered the burger box but because they use a different menu in the restaurant as compared to the one on zomato. The staff was confused and they served me a hot dog box, I returned that one and requested for a single burger so I may taste it. As I have already reviewed the hot dogs.

The burger was delicious, it had double beef patty with grilled cheese, lettuce and tomato. The flavors were pretty awesome, only the fact that the beef was a little tough was disappointing, rest was great.

For dessert, I ordered the chocolate fondant which comes with a scoop of vanilla icecream. The classic combination of hot chocolate fondant and chilled vanilla icecream is always a hit and you may never go wrong with this one!

I would recommend you visit their kite beach branch, somehow I prefer the food truck over the restaurant.

Donut burger- Hit or Miss?

Recently, Hardees launched their donut burger priced at 16 Aed/. which is only available at the Dubai mall branch. I remember being ecstatically nervous to try it since the moment I heard this news. So, I grabbed my nol card and took the first metro towards Burj Khalifa station, throughout the way I imagined myself devouring soft donut and juicy beef patty… sigh!

Upon reaching Hardees, I ordered my burger with plain fries and water. I was given a paper and pen to put down my review of the burger, once I am done eating. The moment I touched it, my fingers felt sticky and I noticed the donut was glazed. Anyway, I took my first bite and my eyes went wide open in shock. I told my husband “omg! its sweet” and he couldn’t understand what I said because my mouth was full of the bite. I munched and swallowed quickly and told him again. This time loud and clear; “This burger is sweet” The donut was a sugar glazed donut, it wasn’t just shaped as a donut. It was an actual donut with a beef patty and cheese inside. I didn’t know what to feel in that very moment. Anyway, I continued eating the beef patty and cheese separately while the donut in the end.

I request you to re-launch this burger minus the sugar in donut. Keep it savory and watch the crowd go wild!.

Stay for the fun at Chowking

If you’re having one of those days when you just don’t feel like having the ordinary usual meals, you gotta visit chowking for the innovative chinese dishes and so much variety on the menu in such affordable price and amazing service. Their team makes sure that you’re having a wonderful dining experience.

I happen to visit this restaurant several times for their fried chicken, I am in love with how they do it. It remains crispy, juicy and salty (in a good way) but this time I tried a lot of other dishes on the menu. Started off with an intensely strong iced tea that was really nice and also tried their milk ice tea that had tea jelly on top. (brownie points for creativity) Loved it!

Appetizers:

I had the dimsum platter which was composed of 4 pcs. vegetable spring rolls, 4pcs. dimsums including beef and chicken ones and 4pcs. fried chicken balls. My favorite were the crispy spring rolls that came with a sweet chilli sauce to dip in. Surprisingly, I loved the dimsums as well, its rare that I like dimsums anywhere but these guys nailed them!

Then I had their vegetarian sweet and sour soup which was quite strong and didn’t work with my palate so I didn’t liked it that much but the veg. sweet corn soup was delicious. It even had steamed broccoli in it.

Main courses:

Started off with veg. hakka noodles that looked beautiful in the skillet topped with some crushed fried onions. Where my fellow bloggers thought it was bland and needed spices, I found it pretty nice and comforting.

Followed by this, was my favorite main course served here that was the prawn thai curry. It was a perfect blend of spicy curry and prawns cooked with bell peppers, I suggest you have it with the fried rice to enjoy fully.

I highly recommend you their cauliflower manchurian as it was amazing, cauliflower was roasted to perfection and the manchurian sauce paired so well with it.

Then, I moved on to the sweet and sour fish which I loved, the fish was soft and tender while the sauce was a little too sweet for me.

Mc Donald’s Signature collection- worth the hype?

Recently, Mc Donald’s launched their signature collection; from which I tried their spicy chicken burger and beef angus. The spicy chicken burger was crunchy and there were atleast 8 jalapenos inside my burger to crack up just the right kind of spiciness. But the beef burger was a disappointment since the patty was tiny and not really filling. Also, it felt a little dry.

I also tried their new limited edition Indian chutney burger which was really nice but I couldn’t understand what was “Indian” about it? as the chutney was barely in there and the rest of the burger was just ordinary. Don’t get me wrong, it tasted amazing but I’m just questioning the label “Indian burger”

Bite off more than you can chew at Uncle tea

Uncle tea is a nice space in barsha serving back to school, classic snacks on such pocket friendly rates. They have quirky quotes outside the eatery and casual seating area with some colorful interiors. You will love eating outdoors here, with the city views.

I fell in love with the place the moment I saw a giant picture of Albert Einstein sipping tea. Also, princess Kate was next to him. The flooring is so pretty that I actually took a separate picture of it.

We ordered aalu samosas that were so delicious, the filling was generous and loaded with good quality spices. We paired them up with uncle tea that was a comforting cup of tea evidently cooked with ginger and cardamom. Tasted brilliant!

We then had the crispy chicken wrap which was supremely delicious and simple. Also, their chicken burger was amazing. The burger patty itself had such bags of flavors packed inside. Loved it!

I ordered vanilla bubble tea but since they were out of lychee boba, I settled for tapioca and didn’t like it that much but it was pretty decent though.

I urge you to visit these guys and enjoy a windy evening sipping uncle tea along with the tasty snacks off course!.

Spoil yourselves at The House of flavours

Wouldn’t it be great if you never have to decide what cuisine you wanna have? Because this is what happens… one of our friend is a die hard chinese cuisine fan, the other one..not so much, he would love Indian food while some of us would wanna have hearty Arabic meals, some would want Filipino fried chicken and this is why we never settle for one place to dine in.

Fear not, House of flavors has got you covered because they serve Indian, Filipino, Chinese and Arabic cuisine all under one roof. Not only this, they have separate chef for each specialty cuisine so the authenticity remains intact. To top it all, they have separate menu-s for every cuisine they serve. I mean, that’s just super cool.

We started off with Crispy chicken that’s cooked in chili sauce with sliced peppers, it tasted amazing. The blend of spices and crispiness of chicken were spot on.

Then we jumped on the murgh angara that at first didn’t strike much excitement for me because I had it seconds after the chili chicken. But believe me, it was the most comforting curry with boneless chicken pieces dunked in it. It was lovely! They served garlic naan with the curry that enhanced its flavor. Naan were super soft and fresh from the oven.

We also tried the charcoal pepper chicken that was true definition of perfection including the pepper coating on top and the juicy chicken from inside. If you can handle high intensity spicy then this one is for you.

Next, we had the american chopsuey which was a giant bowl of noodles on one side and red chicken sauce on the other with a fried egg on top garnished with scallions. Imagine the view that was in front of my eyes, purely beautiful. The egg was cooked perfectly with the egg white hard and yolk soft and intact. The noodles were hand-made and you will definitely know the difference once you taste.

Then came the beef sizzler that made me skip a heart beat, sizzling luscious mushroom sauce with tender juicy beef and a grilled corn on the cob looked nothing but amazing. Totally love the mushroom sauce.

Relish the moment at This is hot dog

Let me paint a picture for you, you are soaking the sun by Kite beach in your swimwear and your kids are playing in the sand and your eyeing that hot dog stand but aren’t sure whether to approach it or not because of the usual hot dog facts.

This is hot dog serves 100 percent halal and natural ingredients including the sausages that are made from premium grade meat with no artificial preservatives. In fact their bread is also freshly made which is why your order takes a little while to be made. You will be glad to know that these guys have won an excellent rate for hygiene which is rare in fast food chains. Also, their ovens have a constant oil filtration system so that your food absorbs minimal oil. How awesome is that?

Their hot dogs are a game changer in terms of quality, quantity and flavors. They have a wide variety of options to chose from. I would suggest you go for the hot dog box (Aed 75) where you get to choose 6 mini hot dogs (They are pretty filling). I opted for masala hot dog, mexican, eggy dog, cheese overload, rose pepper, smokey bandit and Italian. Also, I chose chicken for all so couldn’t differentiate among all the flavors that much. I found them more or less the same. But mexican and eggy dog stood out for me, the guacamole in mexican and scrambled egg on top of eggy dog were my favorites.

I had their poutine fries which were amazing, they had mozzarella cheese and chives and rose pepper. Although, I’m not really a fan of rose peppers. The fries were amazing.

I had their corn dog as well which was super soft coated and there was no oil on my finger tips when I finished eating it. Loved the honey mustard dip with it.

For dessert, I tried their choco dog. I will be honest with you, I wasn’t expecting much from it, the picture made me think that it will be a plain chocolate dessert but hey! it knocked my socks off by the chilled banana in between and the crunchy MnMs with super thick chocolate layers. Sigh! It was the best.

Best potato in town- Potato Hut

I happen to visit the Dubai marina branch of Potato Hut and indulged in some serious potato love that deserves a big round of applause for flavor, creativity, freshness and quality. Its a small place with limited seating but I would recommend you get food from here and enjoy sitting at the Marina beach that’s just some steps away from here.

I ordered the butter chicken baked potato with loads of hot sauce, mayonnaise and bbq sauce. I added capsicum and olives as the veggie toppings. The baked potato tasted amazing. It was a perfect blend of creaminess (as I also added mozzarella) the chunky butter chicken paired so well with it.

Then, I ordered the Sweet potato Indian style which took me back to my childhood in Karachi, Pakistan where in markets, street hawkers used to sell baked sweet potato and it tasted just like that. It was topped with salt, pepper and lemon wedges. Even if you’re not a sweet potato person, I would recommend you try this.

I also tried their bbq chicken sandwich and the highlight here was the potato bread, that was so beautiful. You gotta taste it to believe me. The filling was super creamy with mushrooms and chicken.

They also have some amazing selection of salads and fresh juices along with different varieties of coffee. I tried their beetroot and orange juices and loved both.

I was hosted by Francis and Yuvette, both were lovely people who took care of me so well. If you’re having major potato cravings; my highest recommendations would be for this place.

Netflix and chill with Debonairs Pizza

I think you all are going to agree with the fact that Netflix and chill go very well with pizzas. Last weekend, I ordered debonair’s pizza and binge watched “House of cards”.

I went to their website and the 99 Aed/. deal got me shook. It was three large pizzas for 99 only. So I went for it and ordered a spicy chicken pizza (double stack), Hawaiian chicken pizza and chicken mushroom pizza. I found the online ordering system a bit difficult as from the moment you choose the pizza flavor, all the sub-categories that show up are confusing. For example, when I chose spicy chicken pizza (29 aed) were already added to my cart and then I was asked to choose toppings where the options were cheese, veg toppings, non veg toppings and sauces. Now, for a moment I thought why would I have to add cheese separately, isn’t that what pizza usually comes with? Then I figured out, it must be extra. I suggest the management to add the word extra to the options so it becomes clear.

I added only one instruction with the order that said “please bring the order on time and it should be hot” and they lived it up to it. The pizza was actually 2 minutes earlier than the given time frame.

The spicy chicken pizza was really good, love the fiery jalapenos with creamy cheese. But the bread was really hard and chewy.

Loved this one, the pineapples on top were perfectly caramelized but the dough was still hard.

This was super delicious, especially if you have someone in friends/family who doesn’t like spicy food. It was subtle and tasty. he mushrooms were grilled well but the dough was same hard and chewy.

Overall, I love the variety of flavors to choose from but the dough was pretty troublesome. Thank you for delivering us delicious pizzas Team Debonairs.
