Health meets flavor

I have always felt that salads tend to taste boring and one only compromises on flavor when choosing a healthy salad. But this salad served to be a healthy dose of perspective when I just couldn’t get enough of it. I tried the kale and chicken salad at zaatar w zeit and it was tremendous showcase of health meets flavor.

I shall begin by telling you that I wasn’t particularly happy with the presentation of this as the one shown on their marketing picture was absolutely different. Nevertheless, flavor is what I settle for at the end of the day.

The salad was delicious, especially the crispy fresh kale with zesty dressing and sweet bits of dried apricot in between. Topped with slices of succulent grilled chicken breast that was cooked perfectly. Loved the subtle hints of spices in there. Overall the salad stood out in terms of both quality and quantity.

Also tried their zouza salad with tuna, it was perfect for anyone who likes colorful salad with a bit of this and that. Their fresh carrot juice was wonderful as well.

Food Earth and Love- all together.

Located in Trade center, Dubai; FEL is bound to impress you with their neat white vibes and simple decor. Their interior and food both are based on the popular belief “Less is more”. Now I don’t meant that their meal portion sizes are small because they were enormous. I meant the use of flavors and plating techniques and the menu itself that isn’t composed of ten pages of this and that. Its fairly easier to decide what to eat since the menu describes each dish clearly. FEL uses the freshest and organic ingredients only for their meals. Before I begin dissecting my experience for you, please understand that FEL stands for Food, Love and Earth. I find it beautiful 🙂

We were served Ice water upon arrival and I specifically loved their glasses.

I started off with a classic cup of coffee that was quite a giant cup but was really strong. I then had their summer salad which comprises of heirloom tomatoes, lettuce, balamic vinegar and Parmesan cheese. You may even add chicken to this if you’d like to. Priced at 38 Aed, I feel it was really filling and delicious.

Next up, were the cali chicken wraps. These looked absolutely colorful and a treat for the eyes. The chicken were sliced into thin strips for these and everything tasted brilliant. The chicken was spiced to perfection and even one lettuce wrap was really filling.

Then came something that literally blew my mind. It was a burger that looked pretty simple in a time when burgers come with oozing cheese and ketchup and what not. When I took the first bite, I was so happy and surprised. I looked at the burger patty and asked the server which protein was used to make this? And he tells me that its a vegan burger. I swear my eyes popped out a little. The burger patty was made up of potatoes, beetroot and peas. I mean it was unbelievably good! Try it for yourself, ask for the impossible vegan burger.

I also had the spiced chicken bowl that was made of cajun spiced chicken, cabbage slaw, coconut rice, seared vegetable and avocado cubes. I felt the coconut rice were slightly sweet and needed a more spicy chicken to pair with but the chicken was less spiced so the overall flavor did not quite appeal to me but the seared vegetables were great!

Guilt-free pizza from Freedom Pizza

It’s almost so common that we tick off pizza from the list of food while thinking of our health. Solely because its always high in calories and loaded with cheese. Freedom pizza is famous for their healthy twists on pizza, desserts and garlic breads. They have carefully constructed each recipe bearing in mind that any person who is on gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, keto diets may enjoy their pizzas with zero guilt.

The pizza was right on time even though the delivery outlet was at least 30 minutes away from my home. Not only this but all the pizzas were packed neatly, warm and fresh with tangy marinara sauces. packed separately.

I was really looking forward to have their cauliflower crusted pizza which was extremely delicious, I wouldn’t have imagined that its a cauliflower crust given that the flavors and texture did complete justice to the concept of pizza in general.

Then I had the viva las vegan and felt that the bread was a little dry and could use some kind of moisture. But the toppings were brilliant! Red sauce, vegan sausage, vegan cheese, mixed pepper, spring onion, balsamic onion, basil and parsley were rocking altogether. Overall it was pretty amazing.

I literally love their mozzarella bread sticks, these were chewy pull apart kinda bread pieces. Highly recommend this as a side to your pizza.

I also tried their mango and strawberry cheesecakes that were quite different mainly because they were gluten free and vegan. But not bad though! You should definitely give these a try.img_4138

You may even create/customize your own pizza with a wide variety of toppings to choose from.
